Hi I’m Andy, a professional tattoo artist with nearly 18 years of experience, based in Edwinstowe, near Sherwood Forest. I specialise in black and grey realism, Chicano tattoos, and intricate lettering, crafting custom, high-quality tattoos for clients seeking a unique and personal design.
My studio is a private, appointment-only space, offering a relaxed, one-on-one environment. Unlike high-street tattoo shops, I focus on giving every client a personal and comfortable experience, ensuring that each tattoo is designed with care, creativity, and precision.
My Tattooing Journey
My love for tattooing started at 12 years old, when my obsession with alternative music exposed me to a world of people covered in tattoos, each piece telling a story. From that moment, I was drawn to the subculture—the creativity, the rebellion, and the raw self-expression it represented.
As I got older, I immersed myself in art, music, and design, eventually working in the music industry as a tour manager, PR assistant, and merchandise designer. But tattooing was always the thing that pulled me back. I spent years perfecting my craft, learning different styles, and developing my own approach to black and grey realism, Chicano-style tattoos, and fine-line lettering.

Music & Tattooing – How They Connect
Music has always been a massive part of my life. Growing up, it was the gateway to tattoo culture for me—watching my favorite bands, seeing their tattoos, and realizing how much music and ink went hand in hand.
Before becoming a full-time tattoo artist, I worked in the music industry as a tour manager, PR assistant, and merchandise designer, collaborating with bands across different genres. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for the connection between music, art, and self-expression—something I bring into my tattooing every day.
Many of my clients are musicians, music lovers, and creatives looking for tattoos that capture their passion for sound and storytelling. Whether it’s a lyric tattoo, a band logo, or a design inspired by an album, I love working with people who see tattooing as an extension of their identity, just like music.
When I’m tattooing, you’ll usually hear a mix of rock, metal, hip-hop, and underground music in the background—it’s all about creating the right atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy the experience.

More About Me
Outside of tattooing, I’m heavily involved in art, design, music, and alternative culture. I’ve worked as a freelance artist and designer, creating graphics for brands like Parabellum Jewelry and The Heavy Metal Hairdresser. I also offer logo animation services through my design business, Gript Design Co.
When I’m not tattooing, you’ll probably find me cycling, training, or exploring fitness and health—I’m a keen cyclist with a strong interest in performance and endurance sports. This dedication to discipline and detail translates directly into my tattooing approach, where precision and craftsmanship are key.
